NHS Sheffield commissions health services for the people of Sheffield from a number of different organisations.

Individual Funding Requests (IFR) - Treatments not routinely available from your local NHS

If your doctor feels that you would benefit from one of the treatments that  NHS Sheffield does not routinely pay for and therefore you would like to apply for funding, your doctor will need to get in touch with NHS Sheffield’s ‘Individual Funding Request’ (IFR) team (previously the Cost per Case team).

Continuing Health Care & Funded Nursing Care

NHS Continuing Health Care (CHC) is the name given to a package of services which is arranged and funded by the NHS for people outside hospital with ongoing health needs.
NHS Funded Nursing Care (FNC)is provided to clients residing in a registered nursing home only.
