Sheffield Community Access & Interpreting Service (SCAIS)
SCAIS is an interpreting service hosted by Sheffield Health and Social Care Trust. SCAIS provides interpreters for people whose first language is not English, to enable them to access services throughout South Yorkshire and beyond. We provide interpreters to work within the health service but also for other organisations such as solicitors, housing providers and benefits agencies. SCAIS has interpreters in 80 languages, and in 2010/11 received requests for over 29,000 interpreting sessions.

Booking
To make a booking call 0845 124 8889, please leave a voicemail with full details of the booking if your call is not answered. Alternatively fax the details to 0114 3051942 or email sheffieldscais@nhs.net . You can also use our online booking form.
Opening Hours:
The office is open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm except for Thursdays when we are open 8:30am to 1.00pm. Appointments can be booked outside these hours by prior arrangement. We also offer a 24 hour emergency interpreting service accessed through the normal SCAIS telephone number.
