If you are working in a particular subject area and would like to know about the books and journal articles which have been written on the topic, you may wish to carry out a literature search. You can:
If you are involving library staff in your search, you will need to complete a literature search request form (192kb Word, opens in a new window). This will help formulate your ideas for the search and enable library staff to get a full picture of what you require. If you decide to carry out the search yourself you may find it useful to use the form anyway to clarify what you wish to search on.
For more information about carrying out your own literature search, a literature search guide (750kb pdf, opens in a new window) is available which takes you through a sample search.
Once your literature search has been completed, if you wish to read any of the books and articles, the library can obtain these on your behalf. Further information about how to do this can be found in the Interlibrary loans section of the intranet. If you require any further information or wish to book a literature search with a member of library staff, please contact us.
