NHS Evidence allows everyone working in health and social care to access a wide range of health information to help them deliver quality patient care. NHS Evidence provides free access to clinical and non-clinical information - local, regional, national and international. Information includes evidence, guidance and Government policy.
Use the search box below to search NHS Evidence.
NHS Evidence - Health Information Resources contains many important resources to help health professionals provide better patient care. It includes access to databases, full text journals, specialist libraries, the National Library of Guidelines and the Cochrane Library. An Athens user name and password is required to access some of the resources.
Athens is the name for the system which lets you access many of the electronic resources available to NHS staff. To use the resources you usually need an Athens username and password.
You self-register for an Athens username and password by filling in a simple form on the intranet. From any PC which has internet access, type in the address https://register.athensasms.net/nhs. Press the enter key and follow the on-screen instructions. It's usually quicker and simpler to self-register from a workplace PC.
Links to useful Internet sites, arranged alphabetically or by subject, have been compiled and are available on the the Intranet. If you are unsure where to go for information, why not start with these lists?
If you have any further questions about electronic resources please contact the library.
Sheffield PCT staff and other NHS staff can search the Library catalogue via the Intranet. The catalogue currently contains more than 6,000 resources. Unfortunately, non-NHS users are not able to access the library catalogue online at the present time. However, if you would like us to search the catalogue on your behalf for resources in specific subject areas, we can e-mail details of the resources to you.
