The proposed new premises on Wincobank Avenue will replace the existing Bluebell Medical Centre on Bluebell Road. The practice team will keep the long established name of the practice and continue their patient-centred philosophy.
The planned state-of-the art facility will allow NHS Sheffield and the staff at Bluebell to continue to deliver a high quality service to the local community, but also enable them to develop these further with more staff, better access for the disabled and elderly and a modern therapy and treatment suite.
There will also be a large multipurpose space that can be used for meetings and group sessions looking at physical fitness, mental wellbeing and healthy lifestyle choices. These meeting rooms will also be available to local community groups.
The site for the proposed new centre on Wincobank Avenue is only a stones throw away from the existing Bluebell surgery on Bluebell Road so there will be no disruption for current patients of the surgery. Subject to the planning approval consent it is anticipated that construction work will commence on the new premises in early 2010 and open to the public in early 2011.
