In close partnership with doctors, nurses and other healthcare staff and by listening to you, NHS Sheffield decides how best to spend nearly £1 billion every year. We do this with the aim of providing better health and better healthcare for the population of Sheffield.
We buy Sheffield’s health services on behalf of people in the city.
While we don’t run the hospitals, GP or dental practices, pharmacies or other providers of NHS health care, we are responsible for how well they perform. It’s our job to get the very best performance across all NHS services in the city.
We also work to improve the health of Sheffield people with advice and programmes to help them lead healthier lifestyles and manage their own health better.
Our main aim is to save lives by reducing health inequalities and make Sheffield the healthiest city in England.
