The Directorate has two key functions, Standards and Engagement.

Standards means that we commission and provide the high quality clinical care that we require and that we can demonstrate a level of quality through a robust framework which includes Clinical Governance, Clinical Audit and excellent professional and clinical standards.

The Directorate is also responsible for the strategic professional leadership to Nurses and Allied Health Professionals within the PCT supporting the Provider Services.

Engagement means that we have the mechanisms to engage meaningfully with the users, carers, local community and partners to listen to their views and feed this information back into the work of NHS Sheffield not only learning from it to further develop our services, but also to actively communicate to ensure full engagement, involvement, participation and understanding.

The directorate has responsibilities for the following:

  • Standards Team
  • Communications Team
  • Medicines Management Team
  • Primary Care
  • Continuing Healthcare & Funded Nursing Care

Find out more about each of these areas in the 'Working for Standards & Engagement' section.
